Greenhouse Effect, a jazz quintet led by Aurora’s own Rick Bogel, features an impressive group of talented instrumentalists. They will fill the evening with a mixture of modern tunes, jazz standards, and Latin jazz - mostly ranging from the bebop era of the early 50s to the present.

Glass Harp Music
Brien Engel

Free Admission

Brien is one of the very few people reviving the enchanting art of the glass harp. His instrument includes 50 glasses of different sizes, played by rubbing the rims with his fingers. He performs on Tibetan bowls, glass armonica, and water tuned bowls. Brien an weaves history and physics concepts into his performance, leaving audiences amazed and inspired. Sponsored by the Aurora Free Library and Mandel Therapy Group and NYSCA.

Charles Snyder, historian and raconteur, will tell of General John Burgoyne’s master plan to split and conquer the fledgling American forces in New York State in 1777. "Gentleman Johnny" sent General St. Leger and Joseph Brant and his Indian cohorts down the Mohawk River, stopping at Fort Stanwix, on their way to capture Albany. What happened there is an unbelievable story.

The voice and piano students of Susan May will join Susan and her duet partner, Bosti Sidoti, to transport us back in time with the music of the 1960's. An acoustic duo from New York State with gentle, tight harmony singing classic and original folk and pop songs, Mike & Ruthy accompany each other on guitar, fiddle, banjo, ukelele, and the occasional harmonica or glockenspiel. You may know their work from their larger string-band, The Mammals, that performed here to great acclaim in 2004. As a bonus Pearly Snaps, a duo based in Ithaca College, will open for Mike and Ruthy.

In this insightful short play, the dynamics of a unique family are explored: the relationships of father to daughter and sibling to sibling. Will they detour the Barrett/Browning courtship?
