Aurorafest Preview Friday, July 11th at 7 pm, a special showing of “The Legend of Firefly Marsh” written and directed by Aurora’s own Gabe Torres with special effects by Steve Koch. Gabe will join the audience at the Morgan Opera House, via Zoom. In 1986, two newly graduated film majors found the backing to produce a movie about a fabled monster in Cayuga Lake. Filmed locally and in California, “The Legend of Firefly Marsh” features well-known landmarks and familiar names as extras. Get a jump start on the Aurorafest’s fun by celebrating the story of the original mystical lake creature.
